FAMA Asian Championships in Astana
Kazakhstan 2001

Kazakhstan was the host city for the exciting Asian Championship - recorded number of 29 countries participated.

The President of the Kazakhstan Muaythai Federation, FAMA Vice President and Transportation Minister, Mr. Karim Massimov, welcomed the partakers to the beautiful city of Astana and the FAMA Executive Board to attend the FAMA Executive Board Meeting which will be held during the championship period.

The Opening Ceremony was chaired by the President of the Kazak Olympic Committee, the Deputy Prime Minister, and Officials of the Republic – a fantastic sight of 29 National Teams marched into the national stadium, surely, the crowd was most excited when the Kazak team enter the stadium.

The opening included 2 hours spectacular shows featuring variety of Kazak cultural performances. The ceremony also received media coverage, live on National television. For such an amazing event, we congratulate the Kazakhstan Muaythai Association for arranging the event.
