President of the Federation of Amateur Muaythai of Asia (FAMA)

The Macau stadium will come alive on Saturday 11 November when Xplosion Super-Fights Promotions under the banner of the WMC, IFMA and FAMA will put on a worldwide televised show to promote MuayThai in Macau to further the popularity of MuayThai in the region.

Super-promoters Pierre Ingrassia and Ray Matsumura together with the Hong Kong and Macau MuayThai Associations have put in a lot of work to get this event in place. Thanks also the Grand Waldo Hotel and Casino Group and Galaxay Entertainment.

This will be the biggest MuayThai event ever staged in Macau – and will certainly be a perfect opportunity to promote the sport, as MuayThai is one of the disciplines in the Indoor Asian Games soon to be held in Macau. There are 3 other events planned for Macau including 5 amateur fights in the run-up to the Games.

The sport of MuayThai recently received a huge boost as it was included into GAISF; it has been included in the SEA and Indoor Asian Games. MuayThai has truly become a member of the Olympic path.

Fighters from around the world will participate in this thrilling event. There will be not one but two WMC World Title belts. The first exciting bout will see Australian superstar Nathan “Carnage” Corbett take on the Canadian star Clifton Brown. This will be followed by Swiss sensation Xhavit Bajrami against Australian star Paul Slowinski.

The undercard is filled with some of the biggest names in MuayThai today:

Ramazan the Punisher from Russia will take on the Korean Champion; a thrilling female match-up will see Jodie Soloway, Australia step up for a rematch against Joely Lee , Hong Kong as well as an Asian Challenge match between Hong Kong and China , A South Pacific war between Corey Gwaliasi , New Zealand and Macau.

As if this is not enough, there will also be fighters from India, Japan and Iran – a truly international event.

The President of the WMC, General Chetta Thanajaro; the President of IFMA and FAMA, Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan; the IFMA General Secretary, Mr Stephan Fox and General Secretary of the EMF , Mr Ralph Beale will all travel to Macau to participate in this event.

Stay tuned for a full update on the event.  This is the only beginning of an exciting MuayThai journey in Macau.
