Jackie Chan supports FAMA and Muaythai

MUAYTHAI with the supervision of the World MUAYTHAI Council (WMC) and the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA) and the Federation of MUAYTHAI Amateur (FAMA) achieved another step to world recognition.

Famous Movie Star and Honorary President of Hong Kong MUAYTHAI Association under the banner of FAMA (Member of IFMA) , Low Hui Kang, staged a Super Muaythai Gala attended by many Hong Kong Celebrities. Queen Elsiabeth stadium was packed to its capacity – the audiences were satisfied with pure entertainment and great fights through out the show.

Famous Movie Stars like Jackie Chan, Michael Fitzgrald Wong, Bill Yuen Yuk Man, and Wong Chi Keung were present at the event including female artists and movie stars Tiffany Lee, Ka Ki Mak, Teresa, and Anya presented trophies to the winners of the night.

This great Muaythai show with the gather of celebrities attracted all media in Hong Kong. The flash from cameras wouldn't stop until the last minute of the event. The show also received full TV coverage and will be aired in Europe, Australia, and America. It was, with no doubt, one of the most explosive shows Hong Kong has ever seen.

Top International Fights:

Rudolf Durica (Slovakia) vs Jomtrinoi Sitjomtri (Thailand) - 63.5kg

Both fighters really fought toe to toe – Durica was in trouble in round 2 and 3 but finally turning the fight in round 4 taking a victory on this fight.

Tsoi Tung Hiu (Hong Kong) vs Kangvarnlek Petchyindee (Thai)

- 57kg ARanking fight staged for the winner to go on to the upcoming Asian Title fight. A sensational effort by Tsoi Tung winning a point decision and showed that Hongkong with no doubt is on the way to fight for the big titles.

Daniel Hatch (New Zealand) vs Dorkmaipar Vor Sangprapai (Thai)-63.5kg

Another highlight fight for Daniel Hatch who performed with the heart of a lion against a strong Thai fighter like Dorkmaipar on a 5-round mission - truly an impressive action scene. Daniel got stopped in the final round.

David Gahan (Australia) vs Gongpipop Petchyindee (Thailand) - 63.5kg

A crowd pleaser fight - both boys started round one in typical Thai style. The fight fired up during round two when Gongpipop landed a solid elbow stopping Gahan in breathtaking style.

        

Arslan Magomedov vs Samkor Kiatmondhep (Thailand)

The main fight of the evening - Arslan took the fight on the last minute to replace Chopper. It was a very aggressive 5 rounds of MUAYTHAI, which led to a draw. The winner of this fight was supposed to receive the Jackie Chan's Cup. Nevertheless, Jackie Chan stepped up to congratulate the fighters in the ring and showed his support to MUAYTHAI.

Congratulations to the WMC, IFMA, FAMA and Tim Lee, President of the Hong Kong Muaythai Association on such successful event. Certainly special thanks to the Super Promoter and Movie Star, Loui Hoi Kang, for his effort on this world-class event and Jackie Chan for his generous support toward the sport of Muaythai.

One World - One MUAYTHAI

Jackie Chan, big supporter of Muaythai super gala in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Muaythai association under the umbrella of WMC, IFMA and FAMA is putting on another world-class event on January 6, 2006 in Hong Kong.

Famous Hong Kong movie star, Houi-Kang Low is the promoter of this event. Jackie Chan himself has done the honor of writing his message for the program and will be the chairman of the event.

The main fight will be the WMC Intercontinental Title Fight between Oceania Champion, Shana Choppa Chapman and Thai Superstar Samkor. This willbe a WMC ranking fight and the winner will be in the top 10, which can be challenging for the WMC World Title, out of the winner from the fight between Bukaow versus Johmhod. The WMC has very strict ranking criteria Choppa has fought his way into the top rank. A win in this fight will be one step closer to the ultimate WMC World Title Belt.

There are so many other international fights on the card. For example, former IFMA Champion Jan Antilok from Czech Republic, who is now residing in New Zealand, against Amphon from Thailand.

All in all, there will be 7 international fights and 3 amateur pre qualification fights for the upcoming IFMA World Championships, which will take place during May 30 – June 8, 2006 in Bangkok.

The event will be televised in Hong Kong and via the WMC TV Network to many countries around the world. Tickets are selling fast, most of the ringside seats have already gone to many VIPs and movie stars.
